Bithumb wins Excellence Award at 'Internal Audit Competition' for third consecutive year

Domestic virtual asset exchange Bithumb announced on the 15th that it won the Excellence Award at the '2025 Internal Audit Competition'.

The Internal Audit Competition is being held for the fifth time this year. This year's competition saw 23 teams from the audit divisions of public institutions and financial institutions compete. Participants were evaluated based on resolving various misconduct cases such as improper corporate card use, misappropriation and embezzlement of funds, and information leakage, using a hypothetical internal audit scenario.

Bithumb's win marks the third consecutive year, following 2023 and 2024. A Bithumb official said, "We operate an internal reporting channel for unfair trading and employee misconduct to strengthen internal control," adding, "We are working to prevent misconduct in advance and to enhance the internal control system through strengthened measures such as rewards for reporting."

Kim Jin-gyu, head of Bithumb's Audit Office, said, "We have strived to improve internal audit capabilities through continuous investment in internal control and by strengthening the expertise of audit personnel," adding, "We will contribute to establishing a sound and transparent virtual asset market order by refining audit procedures that reflect the characteristics of the virtual asset industry."
