Summary

  • Cronos (Cronos, CRO) announced that it will introduce CRO staking on domestic virtual asset exchange Upbit.
  • Users can easily participate in CRO staking within Upbit without linking an external wallet or understanding the validator structure.
  • With Upbit providing CRO staking, investment accessibility to the Cronos ecosystem in the Korean market is expected to be strengthened.

Cronos (Cronos, CRO) announced on the 6th that it will introduce CRO token staking on domestic virtual asset exchange Upbit.

Cronos announced through its official channels that Upbit will officially support CRO staking services within the exchange. Accordingly, users can deposit CRO within the Upbit platform and receive rewards.

The feature of this staking introduction is accessibility. Users can participate in CRO staking with just a few clicks without linking an external wallet or understanding the validator structure. Operation of the validator will be handled directly by Upbit.

Upbit currently provides staking for fewer than 10 digital assets. The fact that CRO has been newly included in this list is interpreted as Upbit having evaluated the stability and sustainability of the Cronos network above a certain level.

Korea is regarded as one of the core markets in the CRO ecosystem. Domestic users have used CRO mainly for trading, but recently interest in network participation and long-term use beyond simple trading has gradually expanded.

Ryan Wyatt, Cronos Labs CEO, said, "This cooperation with Upbit is a strategic move to expand participation in the Cronos ecosystem in Korea, one of the most active cryptocurrency markets in the world," and "Through on-exchange staking, millions of Korean users can naturally participate in Cronos without complex on-chain processes."
