A group opposed to decentralized finance (DeFi) is calling for DeFi-related provisions to be excluded from cryptoasset (cryptocurrency) market structure legislation.

On the 10th (Korea time), crypto-focused outlet Cointelegraph reported that the anti-DeFi group “Investors For Transparency” recently aired ads on Fox News, urging the public to contact their senators and push for the removal of DeFi-related provisions.

The ad includes the line, “Tell Your Senator: Pass Crypto Legislation Without DeFi Provisions.”

Another line in the ads reads, “Don’t Let DeFi Stall Innovation.”

Behind the group’s ad campaign is a delay in the passage of the U.S. cryptoasset market structure bill, the “CLARITY” Act, stemming from disagreements over DeFi-related provisions. A vote on the bill is scheduled for 10 a.m. local time on the 15th.
