Summary
- Story (IP) was reported to be rallying as a broad AI-sector uptrend overlaps with expectations for inclusion in U.S. institutional portfolios and a mainnet upgrade.
- Story is being viewed as a thematic play tied to the expansion of the AI-driven content industry, and it was noted that the IP token accounts for a 5.3% weight in the portfolio of the Grayscale Decentralized AI Fund.
- While technical indicators—breakouts above the 30-day and 7-day moving averages, RSI at 79.98, and a bullish MACD turn—suggest buyer-dominant momentum, it was reported that whether it can hold above $2.57 on a closing basis is the key variable for trend continuation.

Amid a broad-based rally across artificial intelligence (AI)-related sectors, Story (IP) is gaining ground as expectations build for inclusion in U.S. institutional portfolios alongside anticipation of a mainnet upgrade.
According to CoinMarketCap on the 12th (KST), Story (IP) was trading at $2.53, up 26.93% from the previous day. At the same time on Upbit’s KRW market, it rose 8.8% day on day to 3,647 won, ranking third in daily trading volume (95.8 billion won) after XRP (Ripple; XRP) and Bitcoin (BTC).
The key driver behind the rally is first being attributed to a rebound in investor sentiment toward the broader AI sector. Story is a project positioning itself as infrastructure that manages and distributes on-chain the intellectual property (IP) rights of content and data generated and used by AI, and its theme-play characteristics are being highlighted in tandem with the expansion of the AI-driven content industry.
As AI-related tokens such as Render and Virtual have moved higher across the crypto market, analysts say demand has also concentrated in Story.
Since last year’s release of its Chapter 2 roadmap, Story has focused on real-world data IP used for robotics and multimodal AI (multi-modal models, such as audio and video—AI beyond text). To that end, in the third quarter it launched Poseidon via a subsidiary, aiming to build data IP infrastructure applicable to real industrial sites—robotics, autonomous driving and industrial automation—drawing attention from major overseas media including Bloomberg.
Another issue is growing visibility of indirect exposure to the Story ecosystem in traditional finance. According to materials released on the 6th by Grayscale, the largest U.S. crypto asset manager with about 50 trillion won in assets under management, the IP token is said to account for roughly a 5.3% weight in the portfolio of the Grayscale Decentralized AI Fund it manages.
The upcoming mainnet upgrade scheduled for the 14th is also seen as having contributed. Through this upgrade, the Fusaka upgrade proposals that were recently discussed on the Ethereum (ETH) network will also be applied to the Story network.
Technical indicators also point to a strong upward trend. Based on CoinMarketCap, Story (IP) has broken above both its 30-day moving average ($1.78) and 7-day moving average ($2.09), while the RSI (7) rose to 79.98, nearing overbought territory. The MACD also signaled a bullish turn, confirming a buyer-dominant momentum. Still, after the sharp short-term surge, whether it can hold above $2.57 on a closing basis is being cited as the key variable for sustaining the trend.
