Blockchain-based cross-border payments company Ripple is teaming up with UC Berkeley in California to foster digital-asset startups.

According to Cryptopolitan, a digital-asset news outlet, Ripple said on the 17th (Korea time) that it has officially launched the 'University Digital Asset Accelerator (UDAX)' with UC Berkeley.

UDAX is a program that provides technical mentoring, fundraising support, and access to Ripple engineers and venture capital (VC) networks, enabling early-stage blockchain startups to develop and scale products on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

UDAX was first run in 2025 at UC Berkeley as a pilot program. At the time, nine startups participated in an intensive program aimed at going to market, alongside training in XRPL architecture, and the final demo day was held in San Francisco, where Ripple is headquartered.

Ripple said, "UDAX will demonstrate the synergy that comes from deep technical expertise and collaboration with the world's leading research institutions," adding, "Ripple will continue to support founders who contribute to building the Internet of Value."
