Summary
- Anatoly Yakovenko said Solana (SOL) cannot survive unless it keeps changing in line with developer and user demands.
- He explained that an ecosystem is important in which transactions on Solana generate enough value for many developers to earn stable revenue.
- Yakovenko said there will always be a next version of Solana, and that those changes do not necessarily have to come from Solana Labs, Anza, or the Solana Foundation.

Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana (SOL), stressed the need for blockchain protocols to evolve continuously.
On the 18th (Korea time), Yakovenko wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that “Solana should not depend on any particular group or individual, but it cannot survive unless it keeps changing in line with developer and user demands.”
He also underscored that Solana must deliver tangible utility. “Transactions on Solana need to generate enough value so that many developers can earn stable revenue,” he said, adding that “an ecosystem where developers can contribute spare resources to improving open-source protocols is important.” He continued, “That is what will make long-term survival possible.”
He added, “There will always be a next version of Solana,” and said that “those changes do not necessarily have to come from Solana Labs, Anza, or the Solana Foundation.”
