Multicoin Capital backs framework to route Aave revenue to the DAO… “Disbursements should be phased”
Summary
- Multicoin Capital said it supports a framework that allocates 100% of revenue from Aave-branded products to the DAO.
- Multicoin Capital said it holds a large amount of Aave tokens and could have significant influence over governance.
- Because a substantial portion of the DAO treasury would be committed, it said disbursements should be phased and the definition of 100% of revenue and the reporting framework should be made transparent.

Multicoin Capital, a crypto asset (cryptocurrency) investment firm, said it supports a framework proposed by Aave Labs to allocate 100% of revenue from Aave-branded products to the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
Vishal Kankani, a principal at Multicoin Capital, said, “A structure in which the DAO directly captures product revenue and funds the execution organization’s budget represents a meaningful shift toward a token-centric economic model.”
Multicoin, a major holder of Aave tokens, could exert significant influence over governance.
However, Kankani noted, “Given that the proposed level of support would account for a substantial share of the DAO treasury, the funds should be disbursed in phases rather than all at once, and the financial plan and rationale should be clearly laid out.”
He added that if the definition of “100% of revenue” is ambiguous, the practical effect of attribution could be weakened, and said there is a need to transparently set out deductible items and the reporting framework, adding, “If the structure is strengthened, we can support the proposal.”
Previously, Aave Labs proposed, through the “Aave Will Win” framework, making the next-generation version Aave v4 the core of the ecosystem and directing 100% of sales generated from Aave-branded products to the DAO treasury.
