Uzbekistan, a Central Asian country, has issued its first-ever virtual asset (cryptocurrency) mining license.

On the 21st (Korea time), Cryptopolitan, citing local media, reported that “NexaGrid” has officially received a virtual asset mining license from Uzbekistan’s National Agency of Perspective Projects (NAPP). The mining operation is expected to be carried out in the Romitan district of Bukhara Region in the southwest.

NAPP is an agency under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, responsible for enforcing regulations related to virtual assets and handling licensing and permitting. This is the first time the Uzbek government has formally approved virtual asset mining.

Toimurod Sultonov, co-founder of NexaGrid, said, “We obtained the authorization through a transparent process,” adding, “This is not just about Bitcoin, but an effort to build future infrastructure in Central Asia.”
