Ripple, a blockchain-based cross-border remittance project, said on the 28th it will introduce artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen security on its blockchain network, the XRP Ledger.
Ripple plans to improve its development framework by using AI across code reviews and the entire testing process to identify security vulnerabilities in advance. In particular, it is also running an AI-based “red team” and conducting tests that simulate real-world hacking scenarios.
The move is seen as dovetailing with Ripple’s push to expand its institution-focused business. Ripple is pursuing participation in the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)’s Project BLOOM, expanding global payment services, and introducing the RLUSD stablecoin.
Ripple stressed that “a security framework commensurate with these needs is essential to support advanced financial use cases such as real-world asset tokenization and corporate payments.”
