SaharaAI (SAHARA AI), a blockchain-based decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) development project, said on the 2nd that it has been working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States to develop AI agents that use computers like real humans do.
The collaboration was carried out to develop a “Computer-Using Agent (CUA).” A computer-using AI is an AI agent that autonomously moves across various programs to perform tasks. SaharaAI provided a dataset required to build “OSGym,” an AI training infrastructure under development by an MIT research team. OSGym is a system that can run multiple computer environments simultaneously to train AI.
SaharaAI collected data based on real user behavior, including internet searches, document work, and program execution. The data were gathered over about a year from 35 countries worldwide and included screen images, task logs, and sequences of actions. The company said that building user-behavior-based data was important, given that the AI is designed to act like a real person using a computer.
SaharaAI also built data that enable the AI to analyze and fix errors that occur during tasks. It categorized issues that arose in the workflow by type and made more efficient task-execution paths possible. Through this training, the AI agent’s ability to perform computer tasks was found to have improved by about 30%.
An MIT research team official said, “Computer-using agents are a new field, and the lack of large-scale public datasets was a hurdle.” The official added, “Thanks to SaharaAI, we were able to build large-scale data in a short period of time, and we plan to expand our cooperation going forward.”
