Opengame Foundation said April 7 that it will begin a governance vote on April 15 for "Breakpoint," the CROSS mainnet 2.0 upgrade.
The proposal calls for a broad overhaul of the network’s operating model and reward structure. Ecosystem contributors will be able to participate in the vote by staking tokens.
The foundation plans to introduce a Proof of Staked Authority, or PoSA, model and shift the network to a participation-based structure. Under the system, participants stake assets to contribute to network operations and receive rewards in return.
The tokenomics structure will also be revised. CROSS will maintain its zero-minting policy, with no additional token issuance, while using 60% of the foundation’s holdings for participant rewards. About 5% of the holdings will be allocated separately for ecosystem expansion.
The proposal also includes revisions to the reward system and base-fee burning.
The foundation said the upgrade will mark a turning point for the CROSS ecosystem and that it aims to build a sustainable network based on community participation.
