Iran’s parliament is considering a plan to permanently bar tankers linked to the US and Israel from transiting the Strait of Hormuz, Iran International reported.

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Commission, said lawmakers are reviewing a measure to ban tankers tied to the US and Israel from passing through the strait.

The measure would be permanent, he said. It would also apply to vessels linked to Israel or traveling to and from the country.

Countries taking actions against the so-called resistance front would also be included, Azizi added.
