Negotiations between the US and Iran have entered a technical phase, raising the possibility that the talks could be extended by another day.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on July 11 that the negotiations had moved beyond an initial exchange of views and into detailed discussions.

According to the report, the two sides’ delegations coordinated their basic positions on some key issues and are now conducting technical reviews of specific matters. Experts from both countries are continuing consultations focused on those details.

The talks were originally scheduled to last one day, but Tasnim reported that a one-day extension is also being discussed as the detailed negotiations continue.

Any decision on an extension has not yet been finalized and will depend on how the negotiations progress.
