SpaceX, Elon Musk’s rocket and satellite company, has maintained its Bitcoin holdings despite posting a steep loss.

CoinDesk reported on June 12 that SpaceX holds about 8,285 Bitcoin worth roughly $603 million. The assets are held in custody at Coinbase Prime.

SpaceX posted a net loss of about $5 billion in 2025, compared with a profit of about $8 billion a year earlier. Revenue rose to $18.5 billion over the same period, but costs surged during the integration of artificial intelligence company xAI, which it acquired in February.

Its Bitcoin holdings, however, were unchanged. On-chain data analyzed by CoinDesk showed no sales or additional purchases, aside from transfers between internal wallets about four months ago. The value of those holdings remains around current levels after topping $1.6 billion when Bitcoin reached a record high in October 2025.

Among corporate holders, SpaceX ranks fourth in Bitcoin holdings behind Strategy, MARA Holdings and Riot Platforms.

SpaceX is also pursuing an initial public offering. Its Bitcoin holdings are set to be disclosed for the first time during the listing process. The IPO is also drawing attention to whether the company will apply fair-value accounting under new standards that took effect in late 2025.
