Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned what it described as a US attack on an Iranian oil tanker and said there are no plans for further talks with Washington.
Tasnim News Agency reported on April 20 that Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told a press conference the US had shown it had no intention of pursuing a diplomatic solution through contradictory actions and continued violations of a ceasefire. Iran has no plans for another round of negotiations with the US, he said. He also called the attack on an Iranian oil tanker a clear “act of aggression.”
Baghaei said it was impossible to forget the costly experience of the past year and what he described as repeated US betrayals of diplomacy. He criticized the US for committing two acts in less than nine months that violated international law and caused harm to Iran.
