Story co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Seung Yoon Lee said the “data layer” is emerging as a key driver for the artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency industries after attending an event at Mar-a-Lago hosted by US President Donald Trump.
Lee delivered a presentation on “State of the Market: Crypto & Equities” at the Global Leadership Conference held on April 25 at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The event centered on top investors in Official Trump, a token issued by Trump’s family. It brought together 297 figures from global capital markets, including Tether Chief Executive Officer Paolo Ardoino and ARK Invest Chief Executive Officer Cathie Wood, as well as a gala luncheon speech by Trump. The gathering drew attention as political, financial and crypto influence converged around Mar-a-Lago.
At the event, Lee said structural change in the AI industry is beginning in the data layer. “If Bittensor built a structure to supply AI computing resources through a decentralized network, Story blockchain and Poseidon decentralize the entire process from data collection to processing and training,” he said.
He also said the core of AI competition is shifting from computing to data. Infrastructure integrating data creation, use and compensation will determine the future competitiveness of AI companies.
Lee said advances in the data layer will mark the start of a new market cycle and become a game changer as blockchain-based licensing and compensation for intellectual property and AI training data gain traction.
Story is a layer-1 blockchain that turns intellectual property into programmable assets. Poseidon is a full-stack decentralized data layer for AI training backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz, or a16z. The infrastructure is designed to address both data sovereignty and creator compensation.
The panel session also included financial and crypto figures such as Mike Alfred, Nathan McCauley and Xiaoxiao Zhu, who discussed market direction.
