Upbit Marks Bitcoin Pizza Day With Pizza Donations to Children’s Care Homes
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Dunamu, the operator of digital-asset exchange Upbit, said on April 30 that it will launch its "Upbit Pizza Day" campaign.
The campaign was created to mark Bitcoin Pizza Day on May 22. Actor Go Kyung-pyo will front the promotion under the slogan, "You know what day May 22 is? It’s Upbit Pizza Day."
Dunamu has carried out annual sharing campaigns for Pizza Day since 2019. It expanded the program in 2022 to a donation model that allows members to participate directly. Through the effort, the company has delivered pizzas to children’s care facilities across South Korea, with cumulative donations topping 13,000 pizzas as of last year.
User participation will again be at the center of this year’s program. In the "Pizza Cheer Card Event," which runs through May 8, members can write messages that will be delivered to children and teenagers along with donated pizzas. Among participants, 300 people will be selected by lottery to receive a limited-edition "Daisy Pizza" created in collaboration with Papa Johns.
Dunamu is also holding an event tied to Bitcoin and Pizza Day. Users who newly enroll in the Bitcoin "Coin Collection" program by May 19 and complete at least one trade will be entered into a drawing, with 2,026 winners set to receive pizza set vouchers.
Yoon Sun-joo, Dunamu’s chief brand impact officer, said Bitcoin Pizza Day is a symbolic day that offers a chance to reflect on the history and meaning of digital assets. With this year’s events focused on turning member participation into donations, she added that the company hopes more users will enjoy the Upbit Pizza Day campaign.
Bitcoin Pizza Day commemorates the first real-world purchase made with Bitcoin on May 22, 2010. It is regarded as a symbolic event marking the expansion of digital assets into the real economy.
