Chiliz said April 30 that it will launch fan tokens on the Solana and Base networks as part of a multichain expansion.

The launch will mark the first time its fan tokens expand beyond Chiliz Chain to external mainnets. The move is part of a strategy to broaden distribution and increase liquidity. Chiliz also plans to strengthen links with the decentralized finance, or DeFi, ecosystem and expand token utility across multiple blockchain environments.

Fan tokens are currently listed on more than 170 exchanges globally, with cumulative market capitalization exceeding $1 billion. Chiliz said it will use an omnichain structure to expand into major ecosystems including Solana and Base and widen access.

Chiliz and PEPPER tokens will first be listed on major decentralized exchanges, or DEXs, including Jupiter and Meteora on Solana and Aerodrome on Base. Fan tokens for global sports clubs will be introduced later in phases.

The company plans to use 10% of fan-token revenue generated on the newly supported chains to buy back and burn Chiliz tokens, reinforcing the link to token value within the ecosystem.

The strategy is part of Chiliz's "Chiliz 2030" vision. It also aims to broaden global distribution ahead of a US market expansion and the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

Chief Executive Officer Alexandre Dreyfus said fan tokens have already created a new revenue stream for the sports industry but have remained confined to a single chain. By expanding to Solana and Base, Chiliz aims to turn them into one of the most widely used digital assets in the world.
