Story, an artificial intelligence-based intellectual property blockchain infrastructure platform, said on May 6 that it launched Story Skills, an open-source framework for AI agents and developers.
Story Skills is designed to help AI coding agents and developers more easily use Story's software development kit, or SDK, and smart-contract infrastructure. It provides structured workflows for core functions including IP registration, licensing and royalty management, with a focus on turning repetitive development tasks into reusable components.
The framework packages key functions into individual "skills," allowing AI tools to understand context and use them directly without requiring developers to combine scattered documentation and sample code. The structure reflects the broader adoption of AI coding assistants in software development.
The initial version consists of two packages: the TypeScript-based story-sdk and the Solidity-based story-contracts. The SDK, released on GitHub, includes environment setup, client initialization, IP registration and licensing, and royalty integration. The smart-contract package supports core protocol contracts, programmatic gateway workflows, testing patterns and permission management.
Story Skills was built around tasks needed in actual development, including IP registration, setting and managing license terms, and integrating royalty and payment flows. The company said the framework is intended to improve development efficiency and accuracy by providing relevant guides, code examples, contract references and error-response information for specific prompts.
"AI-based development is becoming a new standard for how software is built," Story co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Seung-yoon Lee said. "Story Skills will help developers and AI agents work with programmable IP, licensing and royalties more intuitively."
