Sahara AI Builds AI Agent System for Motherson Group With $14.5 Billion in Annual Revenue

Sahara AI, an artificial intelligence agent infrastructure company, said May 8 that it built an autonomous AI agent system with global manufacturer Motherson Group to support engineering work.

The system, called Industrial Design Agent, is a multimodal AI platform integrated directly into engineers' design tools. It analyzes live 3D models, design documents, project requirements and process specifications in real time.

Motherson Group, which makes auto parts and other products, generates nearly $14.5 billion in annual revenue.

Sahara AI said it developed the system to address inefficiencies in manufacturing environments, where engineers had to manually search and verify scattered PDF documents, legacy databases and design libraries.

In operational testing, the system achieved a 97% recall rate, according to Sahara AI, exceeding Motherson Group's performance benchmark. Motherson's engineering team said the platform significantly sped up design iterations that previously took hours.

"AI agents need to go beyond simply answering questions and be immediately usable in real work," Sahara AI Chief Executive Officer Sean Ren said. "We focused on turning decades of accumulated, distributed engineering knowledge into a form that can be used within actual workflows."

Sahara AI is preparing a follow-up project with Motherson Group. The companies are seeking to expand the platform into an autonomous system in which AI agents directly control design software through natural-language commands. Motherson Group is also considering extending AI agents across sales management, legal and operations.
