Kelp DAO, which suffered what it described as the worst hack of the year, said it will formally begin procedures to recover and restore rsETH, the asset frozen in the attack, in coordination with Aave.
In a post on X on May 9, Kelp DAO said it plans to carry out a series of smart-contract operations with Aave over the next 24 hours as the next step in the rsETH collateral recovery process.
Users do not need to take any action during that period, it said. The project added that future updates, including the timing of service resumption, will be shared only through its official channels and urged users to monitor formal announcements.
The step follows a U.S. court ruling approving a recovery process that would transfer assets frozen after the recent hack to Aave. Earlier, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in Manhattan authorized the transfer of $71 million of Ether tied to the North Korea-linked Lazarus Group to an Aave-controlled wallet so recovery procedures could begin.
