Crypto exchange Kraken is switching its cross-chain bridge infrastructure to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP.
Cointelegraph reported on May 15 that Kraken will end support for its existing LayerZero-based bridge and migrate to Chainlink CCIP. The change will apply to Kraken Wrapped Bitcoin, or kBTC, and all wrapped tokens it launches in the future.
Kraken described Chainlink CCIP as enterprise-grade infrastructure that meets strict security and risk-management standards.
The exchange cited its verification system, underlying security architecture, a network of 16 independent node operators, and native rate-limiting features as reasons for the move.
