The Digital Asset Protection Foundation has developed promotional content for a nationwide “Hidden Asset Finder” service and plans to release it later this year, MTN News reported on May 15.

The campaign is designed to make it easier for users to check assets left at defunct cryptocurrency exchanges and apply for their return, improving access to the process.

The foundation supports the return of user assets transferred from operators that have ended trading. Many users, however, remain unaware that exchanges they once used have shut down or that their assets were transferred. The foundation plans to use the campaign to encourage more people to search for hidden assets.

The foundation said it sent emails to all users last year urging them to claim assets that had not been retrieved. It is now preparing this year’s promotional campaign around the new content it developed.

Meanwhile, the office of Rep. Kang Min-kook, a member of the National Assembly’s Political Affairs Committee, said user assets stranded at closed cryptocurrency exchanges totaled 22.1 billion won ($16 million).
