Coinone Adds Recurring Crypto Investment Service to KakaoBank App

Coinone said May 19 that users can now access its recurring cryptocurrency investment service, Coin Moeugi, through the KakaoBank app.

The integration lets users set up recurring investments and check returns directly within the KakaoBank app without moving to the separate Coinone app. Coinone said the collaboration with KakaoBank, its real-name account partner, improves access to the service.

Coin Moeugi automatically buys a selected cryptocurrency on a preset schedule after users choose the asset, investment amount and purchase interval. The service is designed to ease the impact of short-term price swings and support long-term staggered buying. Cumulative users have exceeded 40,000 since its launch in December.

Users can access the service through the "Moeugi" menu under the "Investment" tab in the KakaoBank app. The service supports 10 cryptocurrencies, and each user can sign up for as many as 20 plans. Per-purchase investment amounts range from 5,000 won ($3.60) to 5 million won ($3,600).

To mark the launch, Coinone is running an event for new customers through May 31. Users with no prior trading history who complete a Coin Moeugi purchase of at least 5,000 won ($3.60) through KakaoBank will receive 5,000 Coinone points.

In a separate promotion during the event period, new users who register an event code will immediately receive two Tether tokens, the dollar-pegged stablecoin USDT.

Chief Executive Officer Myunghun Cha said the service was introduced with KakaoBank to improve the user experience and attract new customers. Coinone will pursue broader cooperation by combining its expertise in digital assets with KakaoBank's strengths as a financial platform used by more than 20 million people, he added.
