Tasnim News reported on May 23 that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s army chief.
“If US President Donald Trump makes a foolish choice and returns to war, Iran’s response will be stronger and more destructive,” Ghalibaf said.
He said Iran had reorganized its military capabilities during the ceasefire period and would defend its rights through diplomacy, just as it had defended the country on the battlefield.
Iran will not compromise on the rights of its people when facing what he described as a dishonest and untrustworthy counterpart, he added.
