President Donald Trump criticized former Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler and anti-crypto forces, saying they pushed the US digital-asset industry overseas.

In a Truth Social post on May 27, Trump wrote that Gensler and the “Anti-Crypto Army” had nearly destroyed the US crypto industry by driving Bitcoin and crypto perpetual futures, along with broader innovation, out of the country.

Trump said his leadership had saved the industry and that the US is now the “Crypto Capital of the World.” He added that developers and entrepreneurs are returning to the country.

He also said he would pursue crypto market structure legislation, adding that he would write into law a future-proof digital-asset market structure that cannot be reversed again by anti-crypto forces.

Trump also said “the new frontier of finance” is being built in the US. “TRUMP will NEVER let Crypto down,” he wrote.
