Crypto-based card payment volume has reached a record high.

KobeissiLetter said May 27 that cumulative crypto card payment volume has climbed to about $7.8 billion. Monthly payment volume has surged about 230% since May 2025.

Usage has risen rapidly this year as access to crypto cards that allow stablecoins to be used for payments has expanded, KobeissiLetter said. The wider availability of those cards has made it easier for users to spend stablecoins in everyday transactions like fiat currency, accelerating adoption.

Recently launched Jupiter Global has also helped fuel the growth. Card payment volume on Jupiter Global jumped about 648% over the past two months, according to KobeissiLetter.

Visa is now handling about 90% of all on-chain card transactions through partnerships with crypto infrastructure providers such as Jupiter Global, the report said.

"Crypto cards are the strongest real-world use case for stablecoins," KobeissiLetter said.
