Ethereum layer-2 network Starknet said on June 6 that it will upgrade its mainnet later this month.
StarkWare, the developer of Starknet, wrote on X that it plans to deploy Starknet v0.14.3 to the testnet on June 9 and to the mainnet on June 22.
The new version will introduce a feature that adjusts the base layer-2 gas fee based on the price of Starknet's STRK token. It also aims to speed up block production and lower the target L2 gas usage per block. The maximum block size will remain unchanged.
Support for RPC 0.8 will end with the mainnet upgrade.
StarkWare added that the release includes changes that could create some compatibility issues. It urged all developers to review the official prerelease notes and prepare for the upgrade.
