Tokenized stocks are emerging as a major segment of the real-world asset, or RWA, tokenization market after posting rapid growth this year.

The market for tokenized stocks has expanded to $5.5 billion from $2.23 billion at the start of 2026, The Block reported on June 8. That represents a 147% increase in about six months.

Tokenized stocks are now the fourth-largest RWA category by market capitalization. The growth is being driven by rising demand from crypto investors seeking access to equities on-chain without using traditional brokerages.

Exchanges are moving to broaden related offerings. Kraken and Bybit recently introduced tokenized products tied to investment opportunities in SpaceX's initial public offering, allowing users to participate in unlisted share investments without leaving the crypto ecosystem.

Binance is also offering stock-based perpetual futures to users outside the US as it seeks to capture that demand.

The SpaceX case is viewed as a prominent example of the tokenized stock market's growth potential. Access to IPOs and pre-listing investments had previously been limited to institutional investors and a small group of professional investors, but tokenization has significantly widened access for retail investors, The Block said.
