A hacker who exploited Humanity Protocol (H) minted an additional 200 million tokens without authorization, on-chain tracker Onchain Lens reported.
In a post on X on June 9, Onchain Lens said the attacker had minted 200 million H tokens. It added that 100 million of those tokens had already been sold and swapped for 774 BNB.
The breach was caused by the theft of a private key belonging to a Humanity Foundation member. Humanity co-founder Terence Kwok wrote on X that the team had confirmed a security incident involving the compromise of a private key held by a foundation member. He urged users to avoid interacting with the bridge and all liquidity pools until their safety is confirmed.
Humanity has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens and a circulating supply of 2.83 billion. The 200 million tokens minted by the attacker equal about 7% of the existing circulating supply.
