The US said it has completed additional airstrikes on military facilities in Iran.
US Central Command, or CENTCOM, said in a post on X on June 10 that, under the president's orders, it had "completed additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran."
The operation targeted Iran's military surveillance capabilities, communications systems and air defense facilities, CENTCOM said. US Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy forces used precision-guided weapons to strike targets threatening US troops and international commercial shipping.
The strikes were a response to Iran's "unprovoked and ongoing attacks," the command said. It added that US forces remain on alert and are prepared to respond as needed.
The operation marked a second straight day of US military action after Washington attacked Iran a day earlier. The US had previously launched a military response against Iran following an incident in which a US Apache helicopter was shot down near Oman.
