The US House is prepared to move quickly on the CLARITY Act, a digital-asset market structure bill.
Eleanor Terrett, host of CryptoAmerica, reported on June 18 that Dusty Johnson, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee’s digital assets subcommittee, said the House would act swiftly if the Senate takes up the bill in the coming weeks.
The House is ready to move quickly to pass the CLARITY Act before Congress begins its August recess, he added.
The bill would clarify the legal status of digital assets and divide oversight authority between the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Industry participants expect the measure to ease regulatory uncertainty in the US crypto market if it becomes law.
