Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had fully closed the Strait of Hormuz and warned all vessels not to approach the waterway.

Iran’s state-run Fars News Agency reported on June 20 that the IRGC Navy said the Strait of Hormuz had been “completely closed minutes ago.” The force said it shut the strait to all vessels because of what it called Israel’s “criminal acts” in Lebanon and the US failure to implement a ceasefire agreement.

The IRGC Navy said all ships must stay away from the Strait of Hormuz and warned that vessels violating the order could face threats to their safety.
