Trump Says He Won’t Sign Housing Bill With CBDC Ban Unless Senate Passes Election Measure
Forecast Trend Report by Period

President Donald Trump said he will not sign a housing bill passed by Congress and sent to the White House. The measure includes a provision banning the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency, or CBDC.
In a Truth Social post on July 10, Trump said he was refusing to sign the legislation to protest the Senate’s failure to pass the SAVE AMERICA Act.
The bill is the 21st Century Road to Housing Act. It would limit institutional investors’ purchases of existing single-family homes. It also would bar the Fed from directly or indirectly issuing a CBDC or a substantially similar digital asset.
The CBDC ban would stay in place through Dec. 31, 2030. Stablecoins issued by private entities would be exempt.
