The Czech government has classified decentralized prediction-market platform Polymarket as an unlicensed online gambling site and is moving to block access to the platform.

Cointelegraph reported on July 15 that the Czech Finance Ministry added Polymarket to its list of unlicensed online gambling websites under the country's gambling law. Local internet service providers must block access to Polymarket within 15 days of the announcement.

Czech gambling law prohibits operators from providing online gambling services without government approval. The Finance Ministry determined that Polymarket had been offering services to users in the Czech Republic without the required authorization.
