Kaspersky Identifies New 'OkoBot' Malware Targeting Digital-Asset Investors
Forecast Trend Report by Period

A new malware strain targeting digital-asset investors has been discovered that steals wallet information and browser data. The malware is known as OkoBot.
Cointelegraph reported on July 18 that cybersecurity firm Kaspersky had identified a malware framework it named OkoBot. Kaspersky said it has detected multiple attacks using the malware family since January.
According to Kaspersky, OkoBot infects devices by tricking users into executing malicious commands themselves or through GitHub applications disguised as legitimate software. Once a device is compromised, it collects digital-asset wallet files, browser data and user account credentials. It can also insert malicious browser extensions or capture wallet application screens in an attempt to steal assets.
