Two U.S. service members were killed and one went missing in Jordan in an Iranian attack, while a separate incident in Iraq left another U.S. soldier dead as troops disposed of unexploded ordnance from an Iranian drone.

U.S. Central Command said on X on July 19 that two U.S. troops were killed and one was missing in Jordan in an Iranian attack on July 17.

After searching for the missing service member, the command found unidentified remains at the site on July 19 and is carrying out identification procedures.

Separately, on July 18 in northern Iraq, one U.S. soldier was killed during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance recovered from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. Another U.S. service member suffered minor injuries and is receiving treatment.

Central Command did not release additional details, including the identities of the missing and dead service members, citing the ongoing process of notifying their families.
