Lawmaker Lee Jae-jung Looks to Digital Finance to Improve K-Content Investment
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Digital assets are being discussed as a way to address problems in the investment environment for K-content, with lawmakers also signaling interest in how digital finance could support the industry.
Lee Jae-jung, chair of the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, said at the “Digital Finance and K-Content Innovation Seminar” at the FKI Tower in Yeouido on July 24 that K-content has become a future growth industry, but people working in the field still are not being properly rewarded.
She said she expects digital finance could help provide a solution.
Lee added that digital finance alone cannot guarantee a complete answer to every problem. Still, she said the National Assembly would continue discussions and work to establish an institutional framework to help move in the right direction.
The event was hosted by Korea Digital Asset Valuation and Certification.
In a keynote speech, Park Chang-beom, a director at Korea Digital Asset Valuation and Certification, said K-content has grown into a global industry but still faces challenges including production financing and the distribution of intellectual property revenue.
He said the use of stablecoins, digital assets pegged to fiat currencies, and tokenization technology for real-world assets could help address those issues by connecting industry participants and investors more transparently.
