Hack-related losses in the digital-asset industry exceeded $1.302 billion in the first half of this year.
On July 25, Onchain Lens wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that there were 224 hacking incidents in the sector during the first six months of the year, with total losses reaching $1.302 billion.
The leading cause was the theft of access credentials. Major cases included the KelpDAO incident, which caused $292 million in losses, the Drift (DRIFT) hack at $280 million and the Humanity (H) hack at $31 million.
Phishing-related attacks also caused heavy losses. Ostium lost $24 million, Blend Protocol lost $10.86 million and Bonzo lost $9 million, bringing total phishing-related losses to $282 million.
