Strategy Hints at Another Bitcoin Purchase as Saylor Says ‘Bitcoin Drive Engaged’
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Michael Saylor, Strategy’s co-founder and chairman, posted a message that appeared to hint at another Bitcoin purchase, drawing attention from the market.
The Block reported on Aug. 2 that Saylor posted a chart of the company’s Bitcoin holdings on X with the phrase “Bitcoin Drive engaged.” The report said Strategy could disclose an additional Bitcoin purchase on Monday.
Strategy, however, has not announced a new Bitcoin purchase for five straight weeks. That marks a departure from its usual pattern of posting its Bitcoin holdings chart and then disclosing weekly purchases. Saylor previously shared the same chart with the phrase “We’re gonna need another color,” but a filing released the following day showed no additional purchases.
According to Strategy’s latest filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the company held 843,775 Bitcoin as of July 26. It has spent a total of $63.69 billion acquiring the tokens at an average price of $75,476 each. With Bitcoin trading around $63,200, the holdings are currently valued at about $53.3 billion, roughly $10.4 billion below cost.
The company last announced a Bitcoin purchase on June 22, when it bought 520 Bitcoin for $34.9 million.
It then sold 3,588 Bitcoin for about $216 million between June 29 and July 5 to fund preferred stock dividends and bolster its dollar reserves. Strategy later issued additional common stock, lifting its dollar holdings to $3.75 billion, and also began buying STRC preferred shares.
Separately, Strategy said it would keep the annualized dividend rate on STRC preferred stock at 12%. The company said it plans to maintain that rate until STRC trades stably near its $100 par value.
