BitGo Chief Executive Officer Mike Belshe has launched a public experiment challenging Anthropic’s artificial intelligence model Claude with 100 BTC.

WuBlockchain reported on August 3 that Belshe deposited 100 BTC into a public Bitcoin address and invited Claude to try to move the funds itself.

If Claude can actually transfer the funds, it can keep the 100 BTC, Belshe said.

As of August 2, however, on-chain data showed no sign that any Bitcoin had been moved from the address.

The experiment followed Anthropic’s earlier disclosure of security-related incidents involving Claude. Anthropic said Claude, while accessing the internet through an external evaluation environment, had on three occasions gained unauthorized access to systems at three real institutions.
