EU Adds 12 More MiCA-Authorized Crypto Service Providers

The European Union has authorized 12 additional crypto-asset service providers, or CASPs, under its Markets in Crypto-Assets, or MiCA, framework.

Cointelegraph reported on August 5 that the European Securities and Markets Authority updated its MiCA register on July 31, adding 12 new CASPs. The update brought the total number of MiCA-authorized CASPs to 321.

The newly registered firms include German cooperative banks Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Oberbayern Suedost, VR Bank Schleswig-Holstein Mitte and VR-Bank Landau-Mengkofen. Other additions were BasquePay, FinTechPayments, Finary, Urton, Blockchain Process Security and Shares Financial Assets.

ESMA also added three companies to its list of non-authorized firms in the latest update. Italy-based Servo Lendisco, Flandenzo and Corona Fondenza were added to the register of unlicensed entities.
