UAE-based ZIGChain has secured a multimillion-dollar investment from Laser Digital, the digital-asset subsidiary of Japan’s Nomura.
Laser Digital made the strategic investment in ZIGChain, worth several million dollars, CoinDesk reported on August 5.
The two companies plan to work together to bring the Middle East’s private credit market on-chain following the deal.
“We are building one of the Gulf region’s largest on-chain financial products with Laser Digital,” ZIGChain co-founder Abdul Rafay Gadit said. He added that the collaboration has been smoother because both companies are based in Dubai.
After the news, ZIGChain moved higher. As of 10:35 p.m., it was trading at $0.04194 on Bybit, up 3.07% from a day earlier.
