Chiliz Adds Brazilian Soccer Club Fan Tokens to Solana

Chiliz, the blockchain-based sports entertainment project, said on August 12 that it is bringing fan tokens for major Brazilian soccer clubs to the Solana network, including Flamengo (MENGO), Palmeiras (VERDAO), Fluminense (FLU), Vasco da Gama (VASCO) and Sao Paulo FC (SPFC).
Solana users can now hold and trade those fan tokens through compatible wallets and decentralized applications.
The fan tokens added to Solana are not newly issued assets separate from existing tokens. Using LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token standard, they share the same supply across Solana, Base and Chiliz Chain. Users can move fan tokens across supported networks without issuing separate wrapped tokens.
Chiliz said Chiliz Chain will remain the core infrastructure for fan tokens and sports-related utility. Adding support for Solana broadens fan-token distribution into an ecosystem that already includes a large base of global on-chain traders.
