World Liberty Financial, the digital-asset project led by US President Donald Trump’s family, has delayed a token sale tied to a Maldives resort venture.

Bloomberg reported on August 14 that World Liberty Financial and its partners postponed the sale, which had initially been planned for this spring.

The delay is understood to be linked to travel disruptions in nearby areas caused by the war with Iran. A new launch date has not been set.

The token was structured to securitize loan claims used to finance the resort’s development. It was designed to offer investors a fixed return and a portion of the lending income.

The Maldives resort is being developed by UK property developer Dar Global. Chief Executive Officer Ziad El Chaar said the company continues to review development and launch schedules for its global projects in line with market conditions, regulatory requirements and long-term strategic goals.
