Toyota Finance to Issue $6.8 Million Tokenized Bond for Direct Sale to Retail Investors
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Toyota Finance, the financing arm of Toyota Motor Corp., is issuing a blockchain-based tokenized bond aimed at retail investors.
Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 18 that Toyota Finance opened subscriptions that day for the one-year bond. The minimum investment is ¥100,000, and buyers can invest directly through the Toyota Wallet mobile payment app without a securities account.
The bond will be issued in a total amount of ¥1 billion ($6.8 million) and carries an annual interest rate of 1.72%. It will be managed on blockchain infrastructure provided by BOOSTRY, a Japanese security-token company.
Toyota Finance plans to offer the full process through Toyota Wallet, from bond subscriptions to investor communications and related benefits. Investors will receive Toyota Wallet balance credits, along with perks including Fuji Speedway tickets and test drives of Lexus models and selected classic Toyota vehicles.
The issuance marks Toyota Finance's second security-token bond. Its first such bond was sold in March last year.
