CeDeFi platform BounceBit has launched a new credit layer that offers zero-interest borrowing backed by tokenized money-market funds and crypto investment strategies.
Wu Blockchain reported on Aug. 18 that BounceBit had rolled out Borobudur, a credit layer that lets users holding Franklin Templeton’s tokenized fund BENJI and CeDeFi strategy positions keep earning yield on those assets while accessing 0% credit denominated in BounceBit’s native token, BB.
CeDeFi combines centralized finance, or CeFi, with decentralized finance, or DeFi. It merges the operating model of centralized financial services with blockchain-based on-chain trading and yield generation.
Borobudur is designed to bring crypto-based investment strategies and tokenized money-market fund assets into a single credit framework. The platform is built to let users secure additional liquidity against existing holdings without selling those assets or giving up yield.
With the launch, BounceBit is also expanding the use of BB within its capital infrastructure. The company aims to link crypto-based CeDeFi strategies and tokenized real-world asset products within a single credit structure, broadening an ecosystem in which BB serves as the lending unit.
