Samsung Electronics Co. expects to return 90 trillion won to 110 trillion won ($64.8 billion to $79.2 billion) to shareholders this year.

In a regulatory filing on Aug. 21, the company said the remaining funds available for shareholder returns this year are estimated at about 90 trillion won to 110 trillion won. The actual amount may change depending on this year's business performance and investment spending.

Samsung Electronics previously announced a plan to return 50% of total free cash flow generated over the three years from 2024 through 2026 to shareholders.

The company plans to pay about 30 trillion won ($21.6 billion) in cash dividends this year, including its regular third-quarter dividend. Details will be finalized at a board meeting in late October.

The size of the remaining shareholder returns and the specific implementation plan will be decided after the company closes its books for the year, at a board meeting scheduled for late January 2027. Samsung Electronics said it will consider both cash dividends and share buybacks and cancellations in carrying out the rest of the shareholder return program.
