MANTRA Jumps 143% on Bithumb After Trading Warning as Price Gaps Widen

MANTRA, which previously suffered a security incident, surged in intraday trading.
On Bithumb, the South Korean digital-asset exchange, MANTRA was trading at 14.83 won as of 8 p.m. on Aug. 28, up 142.68% from a day earlier. The token climbed as high as 18 won earlier in the session.
A large price gap has emerged between Bithumb and other domestic exchanges. At the same time, MANTRA was trading on Upbit at 8.53 won, up 47.32% from the previous day.
Prices on South Korea’s two largest crypto exchanges were also above global market levels. According to CoinMarketCap, MANTRA was trading at 6.11 won at the same time, up 5.96% from a day earlier.

MANTRA was designated as a trading-caution item on domestic exchanges on Aug. 21 following a network security incident. Bithumb said at the time it had confirmed that MANTRA experienced a security breach whose cause had not been identified or resolved.
MANTRA said in a report released that day that it suffered about $3.6 million in losses from the incident. It said the breach was caused by a balance-deduction flaw in the Cosmos EVM module.
