Circle Launches Native USDC, EURC on Plasma With Cross-Chain Transfer Support

Stablecoin issuer Circle has launched its dollar-denominated USDC and euro-denominated EURC on layer-1 blockchain Plasma (XPL).

Odaily reported on August 29 that Circle is deploying USDC and EURC natively on Plasma and adding support for its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, or CCTP, and Bridge Kit.

CCTP is a protocol that allows tokens to be transferred across different blockchains.

Circle said institutions will be able to use Plasma for on- and off-ramps between fiat currencies and digital assets. Developers will also be able to integrate USDC and EURC directly into their applications.
